The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) decided to start investigation against ex-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's former press secretary journalist Naimul Islam Khan, his wife and children.
The commission has decided to investigate the allegations, ACC Deputy Director (Public Relations) Akhtarul Islam told UNB.
The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has found 163 bank accounts of Naimul Islam Khan and his family members. Suspicious transactions worth Tk 386 crore were made in these bank accounts.
After verifying the initial information, the agency has decided to investigate the allegation.
The financial intelligence report received by the ACC said that Naimul Islam, his wife and children deposited TK 386 crore in 163 bank accounts and TK 379 crore 52 lakh were withdrawn.
Currently, there are TK 6 crore 27 lakh in these accounts.
A report shows that Naimul Islam Khan has 91 personal bank accounts. TK249 crore was deposited in these accounts. Out of this, he withdrew Tk 238 Currently, only Tk 64 lakh is deposited in his bank account.
The report also found information that a large amount of money was deposited in the bank accounts of his wife and their three daughters.
