The government has set 100 marks instead of 200 for the viva-voce examination in the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) recruitment system.
The decision came from a meeting of the Secretary Committee on Administrative Development today (4 December).
Md Mokhlesur Rahman, senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, disclosed the matter to reporters after the meeting.
Complying with the law of 2024, the viva-voce marks in the BCS have been reduced from 200 to 100, he said.
He added that from now on, the total BCS exam marks are 1,000 instead of 1,100 as 100 marks have been cut from oral marks.
Due to the reduction of 100 marks from the viva-voce, the alleged irregularities in the third stage might be reduced.
