The interim government of Bangladesh has revoked the contractual appointments of the country's ambassadors to the U.S., Russia, and the UAE, with immediate effect, while a new ambassador has been appointed in senior secretary rank

The interim government has cancelled the contractual appointments of Bangladesh’s ambassadors to the United States, Russia, and the United Arab Emirates.

A notice issued on Monday (21 October), signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Nilufa Yasmin of the Ministry of Public Administration’s Contract and Foreign Recruitment Branch, confirmed the termination of these appointments.

Mohammad Imran Hossain was serving as the ambassador at the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington, DC, Kamrul Ahsan held the position in Russia, and Md Abu Zafar was the ambassador to the UAE.

According to the official notification, their remaining contractual tenures were revoked in accordance with the terms of their agreements with the government.

The order, issued in the interest of public service, takes immediate effect.
