A violent confrontation between students from Ideal College and Dhaka College occurred at the Science Lab intersection in the capital city. The clash began around 1:30pm Tuesday (10 September), resulting in a complete halt to traffic in and around the Science Lab area.
According to various sources, Ideal College students allegedly assaulted a Dhaka College student named Pavel. In response, Dhaka College students armed themselves with sticks and engaged in a violent confrontation with their counterparts from Ideal College.
Following the clash, Dhaka College students proceeded to vandalise Ideal College, further exacerbating the situation and causing severe traffic disruptions in the Science Lab area.
Newmarket Police Station Acting Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Mohsin Uddin, informed the media that the police are present at the scene and are working to restore normalcy.
The exact cause of the altercation between the students from the two colleges is currently under investigation.
It is worth noting that this incident follows a similar violent clash between the students of the two colleges last November.
