The website of one of Bangladesh's most prominent newspapers, Prothom Alo has been hacked. However, the media outlet was able to regain control of the website soon after.

The incident took place on Monday (9 September) morning.

Visiting the media outlet's website the following message in Bangla can be seen:

Dear Motiur Rahman Sir and staff of Prothom Alo,

First of all, I want to make it clear that I am not your enemy nor do I have any intention to damage any property of Prothom Alo, the most widely read and most trusted Bengali newspaper in the country.

But the content management system (CMS) developed by Quintype Technologies India Ltd. used by your website to disseminate news online has critical security flaws.

By using which any person or organisation with malicious intentions can change, modify or modify any news or information previously published by Prothom Alo in the form of news and use the credibility of Prothom Alo to spread rumours among the common people.

So I am publishing this message to warn you. I am willing to detail all the security flaws before your technical department and executive officers and with concerted efforts to rectify the same as soon as possible. Please email me at prothomalosecurityconcern@duck.com to contact me.

the end
Prothom Alo is an auspicious person
