Professor Dr SMA Faiz has been appointed as the chairman of the Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC).
His appointment was announced through a statement by the Ministry of Education on Thursday (5 September).
Professor Dr SMA Faiz is a former professor of the Department of Soil, Water, and Environment at the University of Dhaka, and former vice-chancellor of the University of Dhaka.
He has also been a chairman of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission.
