Sheikh Zahidul Islam, FCA, has been appointed chairman of the newly formed Audit Committee at Union Bank PLC.
The first meeting of the bank's newly constituted board, chaired by M Fariduddin Ahmed, was held on 2 September at the bank's head office, said a press release.
At this meeting, Sheikh Zahidul Islam, FCA, was unanimously elected as chairman of the Audit Committee.
He holds an MBA (Finance) from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University and has served in various banks and audit firms, including SIBL, MTB, and AIBL.
His extensive experience includes multi-dimensional audits in banks, local and international companies, and NGOs. He has also been involved in training and providing guidance at the Bangladesh Bank, ICAB, ICMA, as well as in ministries and NGO bureaus.
