The committee tasked with preparing the White Paper on the state of Bangladesh's economy will scrutinize irregularities in energy sector treaties signed during the Awami League regime
Dr. Debapriya Bhattacharya, the head of the committee, informed reporters on Tuesday that they plan to evaluate the agreements, particularly those involving foreign loans, if they are accessible. "We will definitely look into those, especially the agreements in the energy sector," Dr. Debapriya stated.
He added that the committee has already identified key areas for investigation and distributed the workload among its members. "We have also decided on the methodology for preparing this report," Dr. Debapriya noted.
The committee has initiated preliminary work and expects to have the initial outlines ready within the next three days.
The government formed this committee to prepare a comprehensive White Paper on the state of Bangladesh's economy, with Dr. Debapriya Bhattacharya serving as its chair.
