Ashraful Alam, a content creator known for his Facebook page "Go with Ashraful Alam," which focuses on environmental, travel, and aviation issues, has planted more than 500 Neem trees in Dhaka.

The tree-planting initiative began last week in the Gulshan-Banani Lakeside and University of Dhaka areas, culminating on Saturday (31 August), reads a press release.

In addition to the Neem trees, various fruit and ornamental trees were also planted as part of the initiative.

The event was organised in collaboration with Mission Green Bangladesh and SMS Environmental Alliance.

Ashraful Alam said, "The amount of oxygen we take from nature for free would cost a significant amount if we had to obtain it from a hospital. While we spend money on many things in life, we often overlook the need to sustain the oxygen we constantly consume. We can enjoy clean air because someone planted trees before us. So let's start supplying our own oxygen today."

He also mentioned that "Mission Green Bangladesh will take care of the trees we planted."

Mission Green Bangladesh Convener Ahsan Roni commented on the initiative, saying, "We aim to make the entire country green. A greener country will not only reduce the risk of climate change but also help Bangladesh regain its lost natural beauty. We want to bring back the green, lush Bangladesh."
