The British government would stand by Bangladesh in undertaking the necessary reform initiatives to improve the business climate, said British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cook.
"Certain reforms are necessary to enhance the business environment in the country. Improving the trade environment would lead to an increase in foreign investment in Bangladesh," she said following a discussion with Finance Adviser Dr Salahuddin Ahmed at his office in the capital's Sher-E-Banglanagar area on Tuesday (27 August).
During the meeting, the economic adviser stated that the government's goal is to simplify the business environment.
He further informed that the government is already working on reforms in this area, with plans to first reform the capital market, banking, and other financial sectors as part of the broader effort to improve the business climate.
