The government has informed about the procedure of purifying drinking water to the regions impacted by the floods.
According to the method, safe drinking water can be easily prepared by using water purification tablets- Aquatabs (33 mg troclosene sodium).
You have to first take 5 liters of water and strain it with a cotton cloth, the method described, said an official handout.
Then mix one water purification tablet with water while the water will be drinkable after 30 minutes, it said.
A caution was issued saying that the water purification tablet should never be consumed directly.
The handout said the Department of Public Health Engineering of the Local Government Department issued this instruction on Monday.
