A Dhaka court has granted a fresh 10-day remand for Salman F. Rahman, former private industry and investment advisor to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former Law Minister Anisul Huq, and former army officer Major General Ziaul Ahsan in connection with two murder cases under the New Market and Lalbagh police stations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jashim Uddin passed the order on Saturday, following a request from the police for an additional 10-day remand after the completion of their previous remand period.

The three are accused of involvement in two separate murder cases—one filed with New Market Police Station for the killing of Sobuj Ali and another with Lalbagh Police Station for the murder of Khalid Saifullah.

Earlier, on 14 August, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mamunur Rashid placed Anisul Huq and Salman F. Rahman on a 10-day remand each. Subsequently, on 16 August, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Arfatul Rakib granted an eight-day remand to interrogate Ziaul Ahsan.

The ongoing investigation seeks to uncover further details regarding their alleged involvement in these cases.
