The interim government has formed a committee to review the demands of general Ansar members and has requested recommendations within seven days following the review.

The committee, led by Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Director General Major General AKM Aminul Haque, includes representatives from the general Ansar members. They have been tasked with submitting their review and recommendations within the stipulated seven-day period, said a press release issued by the Public Security Division of the Home Ministry.

Members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party (VDP) have been protesting for several days, demanding the regularisation of their jobs. In response to the ongoing protests, Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has initially reviewed the demands and made some decisions.

The ministry said that once the report is received from the aforementioned committee, an inter-ministerial committee will review the recommendations and determine the implementation plan. They will then submit a report to the government for further action.

The ministry also announced that no new recruitment will be made for general Ansar positions until the issue is solved.
