Firefighters has rescued 779 individuals from flood-affected areas over the past three days as part of their ongoing efforts to provide relief to those impacted by severe flooding in several districts.
The rescue operations were carried out from 21 to 23 August, during which time the Fire Service relocated men, women, and children to safe shelters, said Talha Bin Jasim, station officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence media cell.
Directorate of Fire Service and Civil Defence (DFSCD) Director General Brigadier General Md Main Uddin visited the flood-stricken areas of Feni and its surroundings on Friday. During his day-long inspection, he observed the ongoing rescue operations and distributed food supplies to those in need.
The rescue efforts included evacuating 287 people from Feni, 164 from Cumilla, 115 from Chattogram, 112 from Brahmanbaria, 13 from Noakhali, 23 from Khagrachhari, 6 from Chandpur, 50 from Moulvibazar, and 9 from Lakshmipur.
