A technical expert team from the United Nations is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on Thursday (22 August) to investigate the recent killings during the student movement in July and August.
A source from the Foreign Ministry confirmed this to the media on Wednesday (21 August).
The three-member delegation from the UN will begin their visit to Dhaka tomorrow. Following this initial visit, a UN fact-finding mission is expected to arrive in the country to conduct a final investigation into the incidents.
Earlier, Interim Government Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Touhid Hossain stated that the government is fully prepared to provide all necessary support to the UN in its investigation of the July-August killings.
