French President Emmanuel Macron has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Professor Muhammad Yunus on his recent appointment as chief adviser to the interim government of Bangladesh. 

In a formal letter addressed to Professor Yunus, President Macron acknowledged the significant responsibilities that lie ahead for the interim government, particularly in facilitating a smooth transition towards democratic elections and fostering national reconciliation in Bangladesh.

Macron lauded the initial messages of peace and unity conveyed by Professor Yunus, noting their importance during this critical period.

He assured Professor Yunus that France stands ready to offer its full support during this complex phase in Bangladesh’s history. He expressed a keen interest in continuing collaborative efforts to enhance the bilateral relationship between the two nations, with a particular focus on vital issues such as human rights, minority protections, climate change adaptation, and poverty alleviation.
