Director MK Zaman is set to produce a film titled ‘Mother of Democracy’ on the life of Bangladesh's former prime minister Khaleda Zia, with the project now entering its pre-production phase

Director MK Zaman has announced plans to create a film titled "Mother of Democracy" focusing on the life and political journey of former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

The title of the film has already been registered with the Directors’ Guild.

Produced by Akand Entertainment PLC, the director has asserted that the necessary permissions have been obtained from the Zia family for the making of this film.

According to sources, the screenplay for the film has been completed, and pre-production work is currently underway. The shooting is scheduled to commence in October.

Director MK Zaman revealed that the project has been in the works for quite some time, with extensive research conducted to accurately portray the former Prime Minister’s life. He emphasized that the film is essential viewing for those wishing to understand and appreciate the true essence of democracy in Bangladesh.

However, Zaman remained tight-lipped about the casting details, stating that the final casting choices would be revealed closer to the start of shooting. He hinted at significant surprises, assuring that the film’s stature will be matched by the calibre of the actors involved.
