Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Wari Division Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Iqbal has been taken into custody by Detective Branch of police.
He was picked up from his home in Narsingdi on Monday (19 August) evening.
Iqbal is now in DMP's DB custody, a source at the DB confirmed the matter.
The concerned official said that they do not know the decision regarding Iqbal. “We have just kept him in custody,” added the source.
Iqbal was DC of Cyber and Special Crime Division of DMP at the beginning of this year. The officer of the rank of Superintendent of Police has served in the position for a long time.
