The interim government has promoted 73 additional deputy inspector generals (Additional DIGs) to the rank of deputy inspector general (DIG) of police in the latest reshuffle of the police administration.
The Public Security Division of the Home Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Sunday (18 August).
Of these, 63 have been promoted on a supernumerary basis, read the notification.
The notifications state that the promoted officers are required to report to the Secretary of the Public Security Division through the appropriate channels. They will remain in their current positions until further assignments are made.
