Sheikh Hasina, Nowfel among 34 sued in Chattogram murder case

So far, Sheikh Hasina has faced six cases, including five for murder and one for kidnapping.

Former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and former education minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury Nowfel, along with 32 others have been sued in connection with the killing of college student Tanveer Siddiqui during the quota reform movement in Bahaddarhat of Chattogram.

The victim's uncle Mohammad Parvez filed the case at the Chandgaon Police Station on Friday night (16 August), said the police station's Officer-in-Charge (OC) Zahidul Kabir. He said 40 to 50 unidentified persons were also accused in the case.

The case also includes Chattogram City Corporation’s Chandgaon Ward Councillor Israrul Haque Israr, Jamal Khan Ward Councillor Shaibal Das Suman, and Nurul Azim Roni, a former student leader who was arrested with a weapon from Hathazari and lost his position in the student organization.

So far, Sheikh Hasina has faced six cases, including five for murder and one for kidnapping. The case related to Tanveer's murder is the first one filed against her in Chattogram.
