7 contract-based ambassadors, high commissioner ordered to return home

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has instructed seven ambassadors and high commissioners appointed on a contract basis to return to Bangladesh.

Separate notifications signed by DM Salahuddin Mahmood, Director General of the Administration Wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were issued regarding the decision. 

The envoys are Mohammad Imran, Ambassador to Washington; Kamrul Hasan, Ambassador to Russia; Zubair Patwari, Ambassador to Saudi Arabia; Shahabuddin Ahmed, Ambassador to Japan; Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, Ambassador to Germany; Abu Jafar, Ambassador to the UAE and Real Admiral SM Abul Kalam Azad, High Commissioner to the Maldives.

The notifications also state that these diplomats are to be reassigned to the Ministry's headquarters in Dhaka.

They are requested to relinquish their current duties and return to Dhaka immediately.
