Mohammad Zahidul Islam Bhuiyan, Managing Director of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, has been made an Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
This information was disclosed in a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday (15 August).
Zahidul Islam was appointed as the Managing Director of Biman on 27 May. He is an officer of the 18th batch of the BCS Administration cadre. Before his appointment as MD of Biman, he served as the private secretary to Salman F Rahman, former advisor to ex-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on private industry and investment, for five years.
On 5 August, Sheikh Hasina resigned from her position as Prime Minister and left the country amidst a student-led public movement, marking the end of her 15-and-a-half-year tenure.
