A Dhaka court has granted a 10-day remand for former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's private industry and investment advisor, Salman F. Rahman, and former Law Minister Anisul Huq in a murder case under New Market Police Station.
Metropolitan Magistrate Mamunur Rashid issued the order after the police presented them in court, requesting a 10-day remand for each.
According to sources from the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB), a 10-day remand petition will be filed for Salman F Rahman and Anisul Huq for interrogation.
Previously, on Tuesday, they were arrested from the Sadarghat area of the capital in connection with a case under New Market Police Station.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md. Mainul Hasan confirmed their arrest from the Sadarghat area.
Following Sheikh Hasina's resignation from the Prime Minister's position and departure from the country on August 5 due to a student-led movement, members of her cabinet have been in hiding. Some leaders of the Awami League are also reported to be in hiding or have left the country.
