China will not interfere in Bangladesh’s internal politics or sovereignty, said the Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen.
"We will work to further advance the strategic relationship between China and Bangladesh," the envoy stated following a courtesy meeting with the Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday (14 August).
Ambassador Yao Wen emphasised that the strategic partnership between Dhaka and Beijing remains intact.
He further clarified that the overall situation in Bangladesh has not affected the bilateral ties and expressed confidence that the relationship will grow even stronger in the coming year.
"Bangladesh's independence was chosen by its people, and China will respect that choice by refraining from intervening in its politics and sovereignty," he added.
