Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch (DB) would seek a 7-day remand for recently ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s adviser on private industry and investment, Salman F Rahman, along with former law minister Anisul Huq.

"They were brought to the DB office following their arrest yesterday and currently remain in DB custody," officials from the DB said on Wednesday (14 August).

Since their arrest from the capital's Sadarghat on 13 August, the two have been shown as arrested in connection with a murder case filed at the New Market Police Station.
