BNP has announced a three-day protest programme demanding trial against Sheikh Hasina and her associates.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the programmes during a rally organised by the Bangladesh Hindu, Buddhist, Christian Welfare Front outside the National Museum in Shahbagh on Tuesday. The rally was held to call for an end to conspiracies involving the Hindu community.
Rizvi said on 14 and 15 August, the BNP will conduct sit-in protests in front of party offices across the country, including at their office in Nayapaltan, Dhaka. The protests are aimed at demanding justice for the victims of the alleged massacre of students and civilians carried out by what they describe as the fascist regime of Sheikh Hasina.
Additionally, on 16 August, a prayer and milad mahfil will be held to mark the birthday of the country's leader, Begum Khaleda Zia, wishing for her longevity and health. The event will also include prayers for the recovery of those injured and for the martyrs of the recent movement. On that day, followers of Sanatan Dharma and other religions will hold prayers at their places of worship.
