Sheikh Hasina’s stay in India will not negatively affect the relationship between Bangladesh and India, said the interim government's Foreign Adviser Touhid Hossain.

“Even though Sheikh Hasina is in India, there is no chance of the relationship deteriorating because this relationship is based on mutual interests,” said the foreign adviser while speaking to reporters following a briefing for foreign diplomats at the State Guest House Padma on Monday (12 August).

The briefing was attended by representatives from at least 60 countries and international organizations, including Japan, India, Germany, the UK, Canada, Russia, the EU, Spain, Italy, Australia, Malaysia, Turkey, Switzerland, and China, all stationed in Bangladesh.
