The students have successfully managed traffic efficiently in absence of traffic police, said Sergeant Sarwar Hossain who was seen discharging his duty in Karwan Bazar intersection on Monday (12 August).

"In the absence of traffic police, students have taken on a crucial role. They have managed traffic effectively and beautifully. We commend and congratulate them for their efforts," said Sarwar. He also requested continued support for these student volunteers.

On Monday, students from various colleges and universities were seen managing traffic on several roads, including Kawran Bazar. They were joined by scouts and members of the BNCC (Bangladesh National Cadet Corps).

Regarding the absence of traffic police for six days, officers explained that the situation in the country had become unstable, which prevented them from fulfilling their duties. However, with the situation stabilising, and with the help of students and Ansar members, there are no longer significant issues.

While there have been no public objections to the traffic police, concerns about safety due to uniforms have been noted. Traffic police have reported that while there were no problems with the general public, several officers were injured or killed, and some were attacked because of their uniforms.

Students involved in traffic management have stated, "In the absence of police, we took on the responsibility ourselves. We worked together to manage traffic. Now that the traffic police have returned, we feel a bit more at ease, but we will not stop our efforts immediately. We will continue to work alongside the traffic police and raise public awareness. Our team will be smaller than before, but we are still on the field."
