Reports suggesting that policemen who left their workplace amid the chaos following Sheikh Hasina's ouster are facing obstacles in returning are unfounded, according to the Police Headquarters.

The Police Headquarters stated that the media reports claiming police are encountering difficulties on their way back to work are inaccurate, read a press release issued on Thursday (8 August).

"People from various walks of life, including political party leaders, students, and the general public, are providing full cooperation to ensure that police members who have set off for their workplaces can arrive safely," read the release.

The Police Headquarters urged the public not to be misled by these rumors.

Earlier on Wednesday, the newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP), Md Mainul Islam, ordered the police force to return to their respective workplaces within 24 hours.
