Protesters have stormed into Ganabhaban amidst the "March to Dhaka" programme.
The protesters began gathering around noon on Monday (5 August) with the military initially attempting to block their advance.
However, as the number of demonstrators swelled, the soldiers were compelled to step aside.
By early afternoon, thousands of protesters had commenced their march towards Ganobhaban.
At approximately 2:30pm, the protesters entered Ganobhaban, where they began celebrating and taking possession of various items inside the premises.
Meanwhile, in Uttara, around the same time, protesters started emerging from side alleys onto the main road.
Military personnel had set up barbed wire barricades on the Uttara-Azampur main road to contain the protesters. T
aking positions on the main thoroughfare, the soldiers called for the demonstrators to disperse.
