The High Court has dismissed a petition seeking an injunction to cease the use of lethal force against protesters.

An HC bench composed of Justices Mustafa Zaman Islam and SM Masud Hossain Dolon, issued their ruling on Sunday (4 August).

The petition, filed on 29 July by Supreme Court lawyers Manzur-Al-Matin Pitom and Ainu Nahar Siddika Lipi, also requested the release of six coordinators from the anti-discrimination student movement held in DB custody.

The case had been scheduled for review on 31 July; however, due to Justice Dolon's illness, the bench was unavailable on Wednesday and Thursday, leading to a delay in proceedings.
