The residence of Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury in Chattogram has been vandalised by miscreants.

The incident took place on Saturday evening (3 August) when a procession by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement reached the No. 2 Gate area. A segment of the protesters then moved towards the minister’s home.

The education minister’s personal officer, Rahul Das, said, "Banned Jamaat-Shibir and BNP conducted a covert attack on the minister’s residence. They entered the premises, vandalised two cars, and set them on fire.”

This is the house where Mohibul’s father late ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, former mayor of Chattogram and president of the city’s Awami League, used to live.
