A police constable was killed during a clash with protesters under the banner of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Khulna on Friday (2 August).
The deceased, Md. Sumon, a constable of the Bangladesh Police, was posted at Khulna Police Lines, confirmed Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md. Muzammel Haque.
He stated that at least 20 members of the police were injured during the clash.
"We showed the highest level of patience, but they killed one of our members by beating," the commissioner said.
The city's Zero Point area and Khulna University area turned into a warzone amid the clash between police and students today.
