The six coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement who had been in the custody of the Detective Branch (DB), have been released.
Father of Nahid Islam, a prominent figure within the movement, and also one of the six who have been in DB's custody, told media about their release.
Following their release, the activists departed from the DB office in a vehicle at approximately 1:30pm on Thursday (1 August).
The coordinators of the quota reform movement had been placed in police custody for their protection, said Harun-or-Rashid, former chief of Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) DB.
