The government has decided to reopen primary schools on 4 August, following closures due to the quota reform movement.
The decision was made on Wednesday (31 July) during a meeting between the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education and the Directorate of Primary Education.
However, primary schools in the 12 city corporations and the municipalities of Narsingdi district will remain closed for the time being, according to a notification issued by the the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.
It stated that the District Primary Education Officers of all districts covered under the aforementioned order can make necessary decisions regarding the adjustment of class hours, considering the duration of the ongoing curfew and the local realities.
