The High Court has observed that picking up individuals into the DB office and releasing photos of them being fed is a mockery to the nation.
The High Court bench comprising Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice S M Masud Hossain Dolon made this observation on Monday (29 July).
Addressing the state representatives, the High Court said, "You bring people to the DB office, then seat them at a dining table. Do not mock the nation in this manner."
On Sunday (28 July), Additional Police Commissioner (Intelligence) Mohammad Harun-or-Rashid posted several photos on Facebook showing six coordinators of the quota reform movement having breakfast together at the DB office.
In the caption, Harun wrote that the coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, the platform for the quota reform movement, were feeling insecure. Therefore, he brought them to the DB office to discuss their concerns.
He further wrote that after listening to their reasons for feeling insecure and informing them about various plans to ensure student safety, their concerns were alleviated. He assured that the DB team of DMP is committed to ensuring the safety of students.
