A writ petition has been filed in the High Court seeking an order to stop shooting at quota reform protesters starting today.

The petition also calls for the release of six coordinators of the quota reform movement from DB custody.

Supreme Court lawyers Manjur Al Matin Pritom and Ainunnahar Siddika Lipi filed the petition on Monday (29 July).

The petition names the Cabinet Secretary, Home Secretary, Inspector General of Police, and Chief of Army Staff, among others, as respondents.

The hearing is scheduled for 12 noon before the High Court bench of Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice S M Masud Hossain Dolon.
