Detectives have taken two more coordinators of the quota movement into custody on Saturday night (27 July) from Dhaka’s New Market and Science Lab areas, said police.
DB chief Harun Or Rashid said that they have taken Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah into custody for their own safety and to know information about the recent violent incidents.
Earlier in the day, three coordinators of the quota movement were taken into custody from a hospital against doctors' wishes for their own safety and to identify those threatening them, said Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan.
