Following the recent nationwide unrest and curfew to instil order, the Ministry of Education has decided to defer the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations scheduled for 28, 29, and 31 July, as well as 1 August, prioritising the safety of the examinees in light of the prevailing situation.
"The revised timetable for the postponed examinations will be announced in due course through an official notification," Ministry of Education Public Information Officer Mohammad Abul Khair told Bangladesh First on Thursday (25 July).
The postponed exams will likely be held after 11 August, said Prof Tapan Kumar Sarkar, chief of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka.
Previously, the Education Ministry had announced the postponement of all HSC and equivalent examinations scheduled for 18, 21, 23, and 25 July due to unavoidable circumstances.
