Two members of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) were killed in a gunfight with joint forces in Ruma of Bandarban on Wednesday (24 July), said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
However, the identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
The joint forces conducted a drive in the Saikatpara area on Wednesday morning leaving the two KNF members killed.
Meanwhile, firearms, ammunition and other equipment were recovered from the spot, added the statement.
