Protesters set fire to the Setu Bhaban and Disaster Management Building in the Amtali area of Mohakhali, Dhaka, according to the Fire Service Control Room.

The incident was confirmed by the Control Room at around 6:30 PM on Thursday.

Fire service units from Kurmitola and Tejgaon attempted to reach the site but were obstructed by the protesters.

In a related incident, protesters also set fire to the gate and premises of Bangladesh Television in Rampura.

The fire was reported to be still burning until Thursday evening.

Witnesses reported that from morning until noon, the Rampura-Badda road was occupied by students and locals. Protesters, armed with bamboo sticks and iron rods, took positions at various points along the road, with locals joining them. In the afternoon, police arrived with armoured vehicles and used tear gas, sound grenades, and tear shells to disperse the protesters. The students then scattered into nearby alleys.

Several individuals were injured during the clashes, and some of the injured were taken to Banasree Farazi Hospital for treatment.
