The protesting students gathered at the Central Shaheed Minar at 4 PM according to their pre-scheduled program, responding to recent assaults on students allegedly by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) members and demanding quota reforms.

The BCL took position at the Raju Sculpture and TSC area starting from 2 PM. They were seen carrying sticks, iron rods, and wearing helmets.

The presence of protesting students and BCL leaders and activists with sticks has created an atmosphere of tension across the campus.
Meanwhile, the proctorial body of Dhaka University is asking outsiders via loudspeakers to leave the campus immediately.
