Students of the International Islamic University in Chattogram blocked the railway line in Sitakunda, causing the Chattogram-bound Sonar Bangla Express and the Cox's Bazar-bound Tourists Express to be stranded.
The protest began on Tuesday morning at Kumira Railway Station, with hundreds of students participating and chanting slogans against the quota system.
Shafiqul Islam, the station master at Chattogram Railway Station, stated, "Due to the student protest in the Kumira area, two trains have been halted. Law enforcement officers have arrived on the scene and are engaging in discussions with the students."
