Awami League General Secretary and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said that under the guise of quota reform, there is an attempt to carry out an anti-state movement.

Speaking at an emergency press conference at the Awami League political office in Dhanmondi on Monday, he said, "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed an opinion yesterday. Until the High Court verdict is delivered on the matter under consideration, there is nothing for the government to do. Giving opinions on sub judice matters is contempt of court."

He added, "Last night, I heard many political speeches and derogatory slogans under the pretext of the movement. Our concerns have been confirmed that they are actually trying to conduct an anti-government movement under the guise of quota reform."

Quader said various parties, including BNP and Jamaat, are involved and supportive of this movement.
