At least 71 people have been killed and 289 wounded in an Israeli air attack on the al-Mawasi refugee camp, west of Khan Younis, reports Al Jazeera citing Gaza Health Ministry data.
The targeted area was designated by the Israeli forces as a so-called “safe” zone, said Gaza’s Civil Defence.
Witnesses of the Israeli bombing told Al Jazeera that a series of violent raids by Israeli fighter jets targeted the camp for displaced people.
They said this was followed by squadrons of quadcopter aircraft that waited for the ambulance and civil defence teams and opened fire with their machine guns on the cars as soon as they arrived.
As we’ve been reporting, dozens of civilians have so far been reported killed and wounded.
