Protesters of the quota reform movement have taken a position on the railway track in Karwan Bazar, marking the third day of the nationwide Bangla Blockade protest waged on four demands, including the restoration of the 2018 circular revoking quota in government jobs.

Students and job seekers began to gather at the Karwan Bazar intersection after 12 noon on Wednesday and some of them later moved to the railway line around 12:20pm.

The protest continued as the Appellate Division stayed the High Court order that restored the 30% quota for the descendants of freedom fighters, canceling the government’s 2018 circular, for four weeks.

Supporters of the Students' Movement against Discrimination blocked various intersections and highways in and outside the city, including Shahbagh, Farmgate, Dhaka College gate, Science Lab, Agargaon and Dhaka-Aricha highway.

Starting on 6 July, students are continuing the Bangla Blockade movement across the nation, with a break on Tuesday.
