The Anti-Corruption Commission’s (ACC) enforcement team seized six Brahman cattle conducting a raid at Sadeeq Agro farm located near Chandrima Udyan in Agargaon, Dhaka on Wednesday.

According to ACC sources, Sadeeq Agro imported the Brahman cattle in 2021, falsely claiming them to be Friesian cattle.

The cattle were initially seized by airport customs and handed over to the Department of Livestock Services for supervision. There are allegations that the banned Brahman cattle were later purchased at nominal prices in an auction by Sadeeq Agro's owner Imran Hossain by allegedly managing the responsible officials.

In response to these allegations, the ACC, led by Assistant Director Abul Kalam, conducted day-long raids last Monday at the Central Cattle Breeding and Dairy Farm in Savar, as well as at Sadeeq Agro’s farms in Savar, Mohammadpur, and Narsingdi. During the raid, five Brahman cattle and seven calves were found in a shed at Sadeeq Agro in Savar. The ACC also conducted a raid at the airport customs on Tuesday.

Imran Hossain, the proprietor of Sadeeq Agro, recently garnered attention during the Eid al-Adha festival for showcasing high-value pedigree cattle and a goat priced at 1.5 million taka. Reports surfaced on social media that a young man named Mushfiqur Rahman Ifat had purchased the goat for 1.2 million taka, sparking widespread discussion and criticism online. It was later revealed that the buyer did not complete the purchase despite paying a booking fee.

Imran Hossain, owner of Sadeeq Agro Farm, is also the president of the Bangladesh Dairy Farmers Association (BDFA).
