The Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) has launched a shuttle bus service for passengers of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader inaugurated the service at 11am on Wednesday (26 June) in the presence of Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Faruk Khan.

BRTC Chairman Tajul Islam said two buses will operate from the airport to Jasim Uddin in Uttara.

The specially designed buses by BRTC are fully air-conditioned, offer ample luggage space, enhanced security measures, free Wi-Fi, and special facilities for the elderly and individuals with special needs.

Initially, two special shuttle buses were prepared at the integrated central repair workshop in Gazipur with BRTC's own technical expertise.

Quader said, "BRTC had been incurring losses since the Pakistan era. Now, BRTC is profitable. This journey will improve further in the future. The airport shuttle bus will make travel easier for passengers."
