The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is questioning seven officials from the Department of Immigration and Passports in connection with the issuance of a forged passport to former Inspector General of Police Benazir Ahmed.
The passport officials appeared at the ACC headquarters in the morning.
Benazir Ahmed concealed his identity as a police officer and refrained from taking the blue official passport, which is designated for government officials. He also avoided the red diplomatic passport, instead opting for a regular passport typically issued to private job holders, using his authority as the Director General of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
The Department of Immigration and Passports discovered the forgery when he sought renewal of his passport. However, he managed to obtain the renewal by leveraging his position as RAB DG.
