The identity of Mushfiqur Rahman Ifat, who reportedly purchased a goat priced at Tk15 lakh from an agro farm, has surfaced as a hot topic on Bangladesh's social media platforms, particularly Facebook as his father, who is an government official, denied any relation to him.

Mushfiqur Rahman Ifat became the talk of the country when a video of him buying a goat from Sadeeq Agro in Dhaka ahead of Eid-ul-Adza for Tk 15 lakh went viral.

The purchase has sparked widespread discussion and controversy, with netizens questioning how the son of a government official could afford such a hefty sum for a goat. Additionally, Ifat's luxurious cars, lavish lifestyle, and previous activities have come under scrutiny, further fueling the controversy. In response, netizens are demanding an Anti-Corruption Commission investigation into the wealth of the NBR official.

The situation took another turn when President of the Customs Excise and VAT Appellate Tribunal and a member of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) Matiur Rahman claimed that Ifat is not his son. Speaking to the media, Motiur stated, "The discussed Mushfiqur Rahman Ifat is not my son. He is neither a relative nor an acquaintance."

However, our investigation has revealed that Mushfiqur Rahman Ifat is indeed the elder son of Matiur Rahman, President of the Customs Excise and VAT Appellate Tribunal and a member of the National Board of Revenue (NBR). Besides Ifat, Motiur has another son and a daughter. They own a house in Dhanmondi and also reside in a government residence in the Segunbagicha area of Ramna police station in the capital. Ifat completed his intermediate education at Notre Dame College.

Currently, Ifat and his family are in hiding. He has left his house in Dhanmondi and moved to an undisclosed location.
